Waterski World Championships 2013

The 18th edition of the World Championship in Nautical Ski will this year for the first time take place in the waters of the Canary Islands, Tenerife.

 

 

There will compete about 350 participants and more than 30 race boats from countires like Australia, USA, Great Britain, New Zealand, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Spain against each others.

 


The competition on Tenerife consists of various races between the different teams on a race track which will only be definded by beacons. One team is formed by one skier, one driver and one observer in a racing boat with a power that can overcome 1,300 hp and that can reach up to 110 mph.

 

 

The competing teams will race four times during the competition on Tenerife and each one will have three rounds for the Junior, Women's Open/F2 and Men Open/F2.
